Add or Work as a Delegate

Delegates can use the Emburse Enterprise app to create, edit, and submit expenses for another user, helping maintain expense processing continuity when someone is unavailable.

The mobile app allows you to:

  • Add another user as your delegate so they can act on your behalf.
  • Work as a delegate for someone who has assigned you access.

What You Can Do as a Delegate

As a delegate in the Emburse Enterprise mobile app, you can access the same tasks for which you are authorized in Emburse Enterprise online. This includes access to:

  • Home screen
  • Wallet
  • Create a report
  • View and edit expenses
  • Capture receipts via camera button

What You Cannot Do as a Delegate

  • Approve expenses in the app
  • Access travel data in the app
  • See the Invoice or PO buttons in the navigation bar
  • Receive push notifications intended for the user for whom you are a delegate

Add or Remove Delegates

You can assign another user to act on your behalf in Emburse Enterprise online or directly in the mobile app.

1. Open the Emburse Enterprise app.

2. Tap Gear Account Settings.

3. Tap Delegate Settings.

Although you may add approval delegates via the Emburse Enterprise mobile app, at this time, delegates may not approve expenses in the app.

5. Enter the person’s name or email in the search field, then tap their name to select them.

6. The person now appears in the My Delegates list and can act for you in both the web and mobile apps.

7. To remove a delegate in the mobile app, tap the X to the left of their name in Delegate Settings.

Act as a Delegate

If someone has added you as their delegate, you can switch to their account view in the mobile app to manage expenses for them.

1. In the Emburse Enterprise app, tap the Profile button in the upper-right corner.

2. Under your name, tap Switch Account.

3. Select the person for whom you want to work from the Users list, or use the Search box to find and select them.

You will be returned to the home screen, where you will see the user’s name in the middle of the screen and their initials at the top of the screen in place of the Profile icon.

You will remain logged in as that user even if you close and reopen the app.

Switch Back to Your Own Account

1. At the top of the screen, tap the initials of the person you are working for.

2. Under their name, tap Switch Account.

3. Under Your Account, tap your name.

The app will reload to your own home screen.
